Nomad Wireless Modem
Capabilities
The new wireless broadband
modem, an accessory to the Nomad
outdoor rugged handheld
computer, provides wireless Wide
Area Network (WWAN) Internet
access for data transfer. Your
customers now have the option of
sending and receiving data
communications through the
Sprint cellular data network—all
this without extra batteries,
extra Bluetooth connections,
extra cables, etc.
The modem from Franklin Wireless
works via a USB host port
located in the top, under the
cap. The new Nomad 800LD has the
USB host port built in. Or,
upgrading to this feature is
available for Nomad 800B and
800L models.

Nomad Review in GPS World
Don Jewell's comprehensive
review of the Nomad is posted on
the GPS World Web site. We'll
reference it in an upcoming
issue of The Rugged Road but
thought you might like an early
peek. Don's focus was on the
Nomad's GPS capabilities and how
it would perform in rigorous
military applications. His final
sentence: "Our war fighters
deserve the best computer and
GPS units available, and the
Trimble Nomad combination
computer/GPS handheld currently
ranks at the top of the list
with me."
